One of the main features of Iris Hosted Fax is the ability to send and receive faxes right from your email. Below are the instructions for sending a fax by email.
Sending a fax by email
- Compose a new email message.
- In the To field, enter the recipient's 11 digit fax number followed by @btirisfax.com (for example, 12085551234@btirisfax.com).
- Attach the document you want to fax as a PDF.
- Anything you type in the subject line or body is optional and will appear on the fax cover sheet.
- Send the email. Iris delivers it to the recipient's fax machine.
Always use an 11 digit number
Always use an 11 digit fax number when formatting the email. That means including a 1 in front of any number in the United States or Canada.
Cover sheets and international faxing
Customizable fax cover sheets are available. International faxing is turned off by default. Contact us if you need it enabled on your account.
